Social Whatsice?
Sweet, it appears that I am too bigoted to remain in the Social Justice group on Vox. Perhaps I am too heterosexist.
Wonder what I did! I know someone was offended when I said that a
homosexual should definitely support the fight against radical Islam,
since they still stone folks for that sort of thing. Apparently,
I am also not a very good writer. My comparison of the pain felt
by a homosexual who is called "immoral" with the pain of a homosexual
being stoned to death--
-- did not sit well with some critics. I admit that the prose falls flat, but it's a blog folks. I'm not Dean Koontz!Right down to the jagged ends of a shattered cheekbone rubbing together beneath pulverized, lacerated skin.
In all seriousness, it would appear that I mistook the Social Justice group for one which promoted the type of social justice with which I am familiar -- fighting poverty, comforting prisoners, caring for the sick, admonishing sinners...all that stuff. I actually found it rather boring; Bush sucks, Iraq is terrible, the plight of gays in this hemisphere is deplorable...I didn't see one damn thing about ageism like they said in their profile.
And by gum, if I have to defend my Catholicism at every turn then I see no reason that homosexuals, atheists, or liberals should get a free pass with their choice of lifestyle.
My wee troll feelings are hurt.

Gosh...this reminds me of something...can't quite remember it...lemme think a minute...damn I hate it when this happens...Oh!! Wait wait!! I got - nope lost it.....(looks around) where the hell did it go...OH THERE IS IT!!!
It reminds me of HIGH SCHOOL!!!!
I mean, don't get me wrong...I dislike Bush, I don't agree with the war (but always support the troops)..but sheesh.
You and I don't agree on a pretty big issue...but we're still friends. I'd still let you babysit my blog. You may be a troll...but you have a good troll heart!!
Maybe we should start our own "Social Justice:The Real Ones" group. Whaddya say? lol
Hope you have a better day...and meet less rude people!
At least you're still fighting the good fight by keeping your mouth moving - even in situations where others would like you to be silenced.
This is my only comment on this subject. Delete it, expound on it. Ridicule it or me. Have at it.
I did ban you from the Social Justice group and I deleted your comments on my blog. If you read the group's stated goals, your admitted heterosexism is out of place. You and Ted are the only people I've had to do that with. Others complained of Ted which caused me to read what he had posted to the group. His ad hominem of "weasel" above is but one of the examples of why.
While I value free speech and press, the Social Justice group has a clearly written profile which includes, "Ending racism, sexism, heterosexism, ageism, etc. and associated discrimination." I think forming your own group where you can discuss bigotry and discrimination is an excellent idea.
Hiding prejudice behind religious faith does not excuse it, although that is commonly done. Religion is chosen. Sexual orientation is not, as much as you would like to believe otherwise. Following this thinking then, perhaps then you are attracted to both sexes yourself but merely choose to engage only in married heterosexual acts because of your religious beliefs.
As for ageism, there have been posts in the group about policies that work against both children and the elderly, especially in regard to health issues. I will be 60 this year, so I have a personal understanding of such issues, However, since the group is new, as all groups on Vox are, we have not discussed ageism enough yet.
OH YEAH, THAT TIME WE GOT KICKED OUT OF CCM FACEBOOK! :)
It would appear that you are not wanted by the lukewarm Catholics, or the psedo-social justice folk...oh well life goes on....and so shall your blogging career!
And as far as heterosexalism goes, Neal is on the shallow end of that pool, I mean...I could give SPECIFICS here, but I will refrain, for the sake of Neal's Manhood.
I checked "this is good," but actually IT'S TOO GOOD!
HOLY COW, I shoot an arrow into the air, it falls to earth I know not where - yet it hits the right weasel. And for the first time, I don't mean that in the nicest sense.
I wouldn't have cared a bit because I would never have joined your stinkin' group, had I not been invited, and then to find I'd been dis-invited by an anonymous dirtbag, aka YOU, well, I couldn't let that pass for the sheer fun of it.
But ask yourself, Master Jackass, why it is I thought it was you out of 80-odd, apparently very odd, members!?!
Except when you have moral relativism.
Further, I challenge the very notion of heterosexism and other invented social "ills" that your group is dedicated to curing. At some point you have to take a step back and decide whether you actually have a cause with some of this stuff.
If you want to get into the nitty gritty, I believe that the capacity exists within each and every human to derive sexual gratification from things such as a jar of peanut butter. It is dependent on mindset, experience, and perhaps genetic predisposition.
Now, why you felt the need to explain yourself on my blog is beyond me. I didn't name names and think no less of you than I did before. I have no personal feelings about our little discourse. I have been banned for challenging the preconceived notions of so-called progressives at various other points in my history. That's cool. But it's like I said in the post above: If I have to defend my Catholic beliefs at every turn, and do it with charity at the risk of alienating the very people I'm trying to correct, why should your deeply held convictions about homosexuality be held to a different standard? Why should anyone's beliefs about anything go unquestioned? That's not how my religion operates, despite claims to the contrary.
And the ageism line was intended to be humorous. I don't give a crap about ageism. You instill good values in kids and they will respect their elders and know their place.
